Instructions #1)  Located on County Road 216 north of NIchols Pond, less than 100 yards off the road on the left as you travel north.  or:
Instructions #2)  Located in the extreme north part of Brooks Co., off of highway 122. From I-75 go west on 122, through Barney, cross Ga. 33, about 3 miles cross 2 white bridges, turn right on road 216 (Copeland Rd). Go past Brices Pond on left, turn left 1st road. Cemetery on right. by pump house. Fenced in and has a large grace marker In Memory of all buried there. The cemetery is located on property known as the William's Plantation.

When we first visited the cemetery in 1985, there were about 6 headstones (pieces) still legible, all the rest were in such small pieces we couldn't piece them togeather. The only headstone in one piece and still standing was for HEARIT (Spelled as is) M. STRICKLAND, and it is still standing.

One elderly Colter relative states that at one time there were 30 to 40 graves in this cemetery. He remembers going there as a child with his Uncle Dan Strickland.  According to the records of Amy Cannon some markers were destroyed accidently during a fire. We were also told that at one time there had been a School Bus Stop there and that some of the stones were vandalized by children.  I contacted Colter Descendants in 1995 for donations to erect one large headstone to replace the ones that we knew had been in the cemetery. In June of 1995 the stone was errected in the cemetery ( 7ft long by 21/2 ft high, 6" thick). It list the people shown above.
